Today, June 30, the 2023/24 season officially ended, and the contracts of players that were not previously extended by clubs automatically terminate.

In Italian club Napoli, six players have had their contracts expire. These players are midfielders Diego Demme, Leander Dendoncker, Hamed Traore, Piotr Zielinski, and goalkeepers Pierluigi Gollini and Hubert Idasiak.

Demme played for Napoli for nearly five years after being bought from RB Leipzig in 2020 for €10.25 million. During his time at the club, he made 92 appearances, scored five goals, and provided four assists.

The 29-year-old Belgian defensive midfielder Leander Dendoncker spent the last six months at Napoli on loan from Birmingham's Aston Villa. The 24-year-old attacking midfielder from Ivory Coast, Hamed Junior Traore, also spent the second half of the season on loan from Bournemouth.

Gollini was on loan from Atalanta but could not displace Meret as the first-choice goalkeeper, while Idasiak played only three matches for the club. However, the key loss will be Piotr Zielinski. The Polish player has been with Napoli since 2016, joining from Udinese for €16 million. Over this time, he made 364 appearances, scored 51 goals, and provided 46 assists.
