Mourinho goes all-in against Barcelona! Real Madrid prepare a daring Camp Nou assault
José Mourinho is preparing to turn El Clásico into a battle played on his terms.
Details: Ahead of Sunday's clash with Barcelona at Camp Nou, reports in Spain indicate that the Real Madrid coach is working on a more ambitious approach built around quick transitions, creativity and greater freedom for his attacking players. Arda Güler, Jude Bellingham and Bernardo Silva are among the footballers whose ability on the ball could become important weapons in Mourinho's plan.
The Portuguese coach still wants tactical discipline, but Madrid could look to hurt Barcelona quickly whenever space appears. Federico Valverde's role remains one of the main selection questions, while Güler offers Mourinho an option for a more possession-oriented midfield and the ability to launch Kylian Mbappé and Yan Diomandé into dangerous areas.
Mourinho himself has refused to reveal his starting XI. After the Champions League victory over RB Leipzig, he stressed that El Clásico cannot be treated like an ordinary league match and also pointed out that Madrid will have 24 hours less rest than Barcelona. With the Catalans six points ahead in La Liga, defeat would leave Real in an extremely difficult position in the title race.
It is worth noting that Real Madrid arrive at El Clásico after two consecutive 4-1 victories, beating Sevilla in La Liga and RB Leipzig in the Champions League. Mourinho's side have therefore scored eight goals across their last two matches before travelling to Camp Nou.
Reminder: New law at Real Madrid! Mourinho makes a major decision before El Clasico
