Mohammed Kudus has reportedly withdrawn from the Ghana squad ahead of the Black Stars’ opening 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying matches.
According to an exclusive report by Ghanaian media outlet 3Sports, Kudus has opted out of the upcoming qualifiers to continue his recovery and work towards regaining full fitness after a lengthy spell on the sidelines with a quad injury.
The 26-year-old was included in Carlos Queiroz’s squad announced on September 18, alongside several players who are returning to the national team after missing Ghana’s 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign.
Ghana will begin their 2027 AFCON qualifying campaign on September 24 with an away fixture against Côte d’Ivoire in Bouaké.
