Today, Al-Nassr faced Qatari side Al-Sadd at home in the 6th round of the AFC Champions League. Unfortunately for the Saudi team, the match didn’t go their way.
In the 53rd minute, Al-Sadd's star player Akram Afif opened the scoring. However, in the 80th minute, Al-Sadd defender Romain Saïss accidentally turned the ball into his own net, equalizing the score.
It seemed the game would end in a draw, but in the dying minutes of stoppage time, Al-Sadd was awarded a penalty, which Adam Ounas converted to secure a dramatic victory.
Global football legend Cristiano Ronaldo was not included in Al-Nassr's squad for this match, as head coach Stefano Pioli decided to rest him.
With 13 points, Al-Nassr remains in third place, while Al-Sadd follows closely in fourth.
