Milford FC coach Dr Xanti Pupuma on losing to TS Galaxy in the Nedbank Cup: The loss gives us a chance now to focus on our PSL promotion aspirations
Dr Xanti Pupuma has rallied his team to now shift their focus on their promotion chances after exiting the Nedbank Cup against TS Galaxy.
Pupuma’s Milford FC lost 4-3 on penalties at Solomon Mahlangu Stadium yesterday after a 1-1 draw in regulation time.
Milford FC are on top of the Motsepe Foundation Championship standings on goal difference ahead of Kruger United and it is dominating the National First Division the plan Pupuma wants to succeed in.
“I’m not really frustrated about being eliminated. It gives us the opportunity to focus on promotion, and hopefully, we will achieve it at the end of the day,” he said on SuperSport TV after the loss to TS Galaxy.
“We could have concluded this game in 90 minutes because we had a lot of chances that we needed to finish it off.
“But there comes a time when it has been a long season.
“We will definitely take a lot of positives from this tournament. Even in the Galaxy game, I think the boys can see that they can actually compete with the Betway Premiership teams and play at the same level that is required.”
