Manchester City secured a resilient victory against Newcastle (3-2), trailing 1-2 during the match. The Citizens were behind until the 74th minute but managed to equalize and snatch the victory through the efforts of Kevin De Bruyne and Oscar Bobb.

According to the statistical portal Opta, the Citizens became only the fourth club in Premier League history to achieve three consecutive come-from-behind victories in away matches. Previously, this feat was accomplished by Leeds in October 1999, Tottenham in December 2013, and Manchester United in December 2020.

With 43 points, Manchester City continues to chase Liverpool in the Premier League standings. Their next match under Guardiola's leadership is scheduled for January 26th against Tottenham in the FA Cup.

It has been reported earlier that the recovery process for the Blue's top scorer Erling Haaland is taking longer than expected.
