Manchester City secured a thrilling victory against Newcastle in a spectacular match
In the 21st round of the English Premier League, Newcastle hosted Manchester City at their home ground. Both teams faced squad issues: Newcastle's infirmary was still full, and City was still without Holland due to injury.
The start of the match wasn't favorable for the guests. First, Newcastle's goal was disallowed due to an offside, and a few minutes later, City's main goalkeeper Ederson suffered an injury. Guardiola's team took control of the ball and opened the scoring midway through the first half. Bernardo Silva marked it with an amazing backheel shot. Newcastle responded almost immediately: Isak reacted to Gimarães' pass and equalized, and a minute later, Anthony Gordon scored a fantastic goal — 2-1.
In the second half, the guests continued to press Newcastle, which looked good on counter-attacks. City rightfully leveled the score with Kevin De Bruyne's effort in the 74th minute, and in injury time, the Belgian found Oscar Bobb with an excellent pass, who sealed the victory.
Newcastle 2-3 Manchester City
