Manchester City defender is one step away from a move to Borussia Dortmund
Manchester City defender Yan Couto is on the verge of joining Borussia Dortmund, according to journalist Nicolo Schira.
The Brazilian defender has agreed to move to the "Black and Yellows" and is expected to sign a contract until 2029.
Previously, it was reported that Dortmund was unwilling to pay the €40 million release clause. The club entered negotiations with Manchester City and aimed to reduce the fee to €20-25 million.
Last season, the 22-year-old Brazilian scored 2 goals and provided 8 assists in 39 matches for Girona, where he played on loan from Manchester City.
Couto's contract with Manchester City is valid until June 30, 2026. Transfermarkt values him at €25 million.
Additionally, one of the top scorers from last season in the top 5 leagues, Serhou Guirassy, has officially left Stuttgart and joined Borussia Dortmund. The "Black and Yellows" paid €17.5 million for his transfer.
