The Teranga Lions squad, unveiled on Friday 18 September for the September–October 2026 international break, features a number of new faces.

Patrick Viera has brought fresh blood into the Lions of Teranga. Whilst Senegal’s new manager has recalled certain players to the squad, notably Nobel Mendy, Mamadou Diakhon, Rassoul Ndiaye, Abdallah Sima and Boulaye Dia, he has also called up several players for the very first time.

The French manager has bolstered the Senegalese squad with Ngagne Demba Thiam, Mamour Ndiaye, Malang Sarr, Sadibou Sané, Lamine Sy, Issa Soumaré and Pape Moussa Fall. This is the first time these players have been called up to the Lions of Teranga.

Along with the rest of the squad, they will take part in the first two matchdays of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers and in the international friendly against the Comoros on 4 October. They will travel to Maputo to face Mozambique on 25 September and then to Ethiopia on 29 September.
