Luck Zogbe called up as a replacement for the Ivory Coast Elephants following Guela Doué’s injury
The Brest defender has been called up by Hervé Renard to fill in for his team-mate, who is unavailable for the international break.
Guela Doué has officially been ruled out of the first two fixtures of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. Bayer Leverkusen announced a few days ago that the 23-year-old defender had sustained a muscle injury to his right calf during a training session.
This injury rules Guela Doué out of Ivory Coast’s matches against Ghana, Somalia and Cameroon. Faced with this situation, manager Hervé Renard did not wait long to find his replacement.
The French manager has called up Luck Zogbe, according to reports from Malick Traoré. The Brest defender will therefore take Doué’s place for the international break.
During this FIFA window, Ivory Coast will face Ghana on the first matchday of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers before taking on Somalia on matchday 2. The Elephants will also play an international friendly against Cameroon’s Indomitable Lions.
