Knicks demand ten million euros in compensation from Toronto

The New York Knicks basketball team is demanding ten million euros in compensation from the Toronto Raptors in the lawsuit over the theft of thousands of confidential files.
According to ESPN, former Knicks employee Ikechukwu Azotam, who worked for the team from 2020 to 2023, is accused of sending the Raptors thousands of confidential files, including match reports, preparations for the 2022/23 season, scout video files, opponent reports, and more. This occurred after he moved to Toronto in the summer of 2023.
He is also accused of violating confidentiality provisions in his employment agreement. The Knicks claim that Toronto either directed Azotam's actions or knowingly benefited from his wrongful deeds.
The Knicks also argue that NBA Commissioner Adam Silver should not serve as an arbitrator in the dispute due to his close relationship with Raptors owner Larry Tanenbaum. They believe that Silver's position as head of the NBA Board of Governors will lead to a conflict of interest, as Tanenbaum serves as Silver's boss and exerts significant influence over his ongoing work and salary.
