Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Brandon Peterson on facing Orlando Pirates today: We know what they will do today and we will stop them on their trackss
Brandon Peterson has read and understood how Orlando Pirates plays.
The Kaizer Chiefs goal-minder has shared what he thinks are Pirates’ strengths ahead of today’s Soweto derby and how they need to stop the Sea Robbers.
“We also need to make sure that they don’t get a lot of chances, we nullify them, and make sure that we stop their attacks. We know what we are up against; they’ve been on form, I think they are unbeaten in their last eight games. So it’s two teams facing each other, and the stakes are high. I think both teams are in phenomenal shape, and it’s going to be a good fixture,” said Peterson.
“The first derby was disappointing, and since that derby we’ve played a couple of games, and we’ve done fairly well in those games.
“For me, I think from that derby we needed to correct some things, which is scoring goals, and we started to convert our chances. We’ve been solid in defence. So the emphasis is just on us—what we’ve been doing well and continuing with it, and making sure that we capitalise on our chances against Pirates.”
This game promises to be a humdinger of note given that both sides are not looking to hold back given their season aims.
Pirates are shoe in the title race while Chiefs are looking at cementing their third place finish.
The encounter starts at 3pm at FNB Stadium.
