Kaizer Chiefs defender Zitha Kwinika on his contract delays at Amakhosi: I will wait until the end of my current deal to engage with the club

Zitha Kwinika plans to have a man to man meeting with Kaizer Motaung Junior upon expiration of his current contract for possible renewal talks.

Kwinika, a product of Amakhosi development, is in his last months of his Chiefs contract and the club are yet to engage him on renewing or non-renewal.

The former Bidvest Wits and Stellenbosch FC defender said he will have a meeting with the club’s Sporting Director at the end of the campaign to discuss possible contractual changes.

“No, regarding that, I will speak to Bra Kaizer Motaung Junior, probably after that the contract expires,” said Kwinika.

“My agent Basia Michaels and I are waiting, and we shall see what happens.”

Kwinika has been one of the most reliable defenders for Chiefs this season but he shifted the glory away from him.

“In this game, individual credit doesn’t really work. I always say it’s not mainly about me,” Kwinika said.

“Perhaps in the past, whatever we were doing as a group was not working well for me. But now, whoever is around me is complimenting the person I am coming out to be. The team shape and the structure are finally complementing my style, allowing me to better showcase my talent.”
