Ben Youssef Khali on Kaizer Chiefs absent players: We cannot play 20 as Fifa does not allow that as we can only 11 in the starting line-up

Ben Youssef Khalid is no longer keen to explain to the media which Kaizer Chiefs player is missing and for what reason.

The coach was asked about the absence of Asanele Velebayi and Luke Baartman in the Amakhosi starting line-up as they made the match-day squad.

“Unfortunately, in football, we can only use 11 players and we have nine substitutes, so if every press conference we discuss about the players who are not in the squad, it’s not the solution,” he said.

“The only solution is if FIFA allowed us to play with 20 players, but we can’t find a solution for this.

“Why Ethan play? Why Ethan don’t play? Why Velebayi play? Why Baartman don’t play – how many players can we use? We have 38 players in the squad.”

Chiefs lost 2-1 to Stellenbosch FC after taking the lead via striker Flavio Silva in the first half. They face Orlando Pirates on Saturday in the much-anticipated Soweto derby.
