Kaizer Chiefs defender Aiden McCarthy on their clash against Magesi FC this evening: We are approaching this game with a winning mentality

Aiden McCarthy has highlighted that Kaizer Chiefs taking the game against Magesi FC like they would when they play Mamelodi Sundowns or Orlando Pirates.

McCarthy’s Kaizer Chiefs face bottom side Magesi FC tomorrow in a Betway Premiership match at Moses Mabhida Stadium and the position of their opponents suggest they will take them lightly.

Chiefs are fifth on the standings and are looking to finish in the top three.

“You need to prepare the same way as if it were a big game, like a derby or a Mamelodi Sundowns game. You get your points from those fixtures because those teams are also fighting to be safe for next season,” he said as he also stressed that he is in a better mental and physical state of his game presently.

“Mentally and physically, I think I’m in the best position and shape that I can be in for the season so far.

“I’ve had injuries at the beginning of the season, but now I’ve been doing a lot of recovery and looking after my body and my muscles. That helps with knowing how to manage yourself.”

McCarthy said his club goal remains finishing in the top three.

“I feel like we all need to have the same vision, and that vision is finishing in the top three. No matter what happens with other teams, it’s out of our control. We can work together as a team to achieve that,” he concluded.

The game against Magesi FC starts at 6pm this evening.
