Juventus has officially announced the signing of Brazilian midfielder Douglas Luiz on their website. The 26-year-old joins from Aston Villa.

Luiz has signed a five-year contract with the Bianconeri, lasting until June 30, 2029.

Having joined Aston Villa from Manchester City in the summer of 2019, Luiz played 204 matches, scoring 22 goals and providing 24 assists for the "Lions."

He began his career in the youth ranks of Vasco da Gama and debuted for their senior team in 2016. After 29 appearances, Manchester City signed him, but it was during his two-year loan at Girona that he made a name for himself.

Luiz played 46 matches for the Spanish side across domestic and European competitions before moving to Aston Villa, where he established himself internationally, earning call-ups to the Brazilian national team and debuting in November 2019.

During his time in Birmingham, Luiz became one of the Premier League's top midfielders, with 22 goals and 24 assists in 204 matches.

Additionally, he represented Brazil at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, helping his nation secure gold against Spain in the final.
