Jose Riveiro is confident midfielder Relebohile Mofokeng will return to form for Orlando Pirates
Jose Riveiro backs Relebohile Mofokeng to return to form.
The former Orlando Pirates coach believes his protégé will soon start displaying the kind of performances which made him a household name in the PSL.
Mofokeng has not been a key figure for the Sea Robbers this season like he was under Riveiro for the one year spell of the Spanish’s three year spell at Orlando Stadium.
Injury has hampered his form and as a consequence Mofokeng has lost his place in the Bafana Bafana squad.
“Rele is a very mature guy and if it’s true what you're saying, which I cannot say or confirm right now, I'm sure he's going to find a way to come back to the right track and still perform the way he used to do it,” Riveiro said this week.
“Having ups and downs in a football career is normal for the players. You cannot be in your peak constantly.
“I think that maybe Rele makes it look easy for everyone to perform the way he does week in, week out. I'm sure that Rele is going to continue enjoying playing football and playing good games and scoring goals and assisting and playing the way that he used to do it for Pirates and for Bafana.”
Mofokeng’s Pirates face Chippa United on Tuesday night in a Betway Premiership match at Orlando Stadium.
The encounter starts at 7.30pm.
