Jose Riveiro holds no regrets. The former Orlando Pirates coach is in good space after leaving Al-Ahly who he joined after leaving Pirates

Jose Riveiro is content.

The Spanish has no iota of regret of his stay at Orlando Pirates.

Riverio left Betway Premiership side, Pirates just before last season ended for a move to Egyptian giants Al-Ahly.

The Red Devils of African football signed the coach after his memorable stay at Orlando Stadium, where he won all trophies on offer in South Africa bar the league title.

“No, no I don’t use to look back in life,” said Riveiro on Metro FM.

“It was a decision that was made in some certain circumstances. So to think about the same thing now in different circumstances it doesn’t make any sense.

“It’s easy to make decisions with tomorrow’s journal like we used to say. I don’t know if people understood the nature of my decision at that time but I didn’t leave Pirates because I moved to Ahly.

“It was a decision that was made a long, long, long time ago and Ahly came later.”

His only misgiving about the move was that Al-Ahly insisted on having him on board ahead of their participation at Club World Cup.

“The only thing that I didn’t like about what happened was the fact that I must move before the season ends. I wasn’t happy about that. I was not really happy but it was a must from Ahly,” he said.
