"It Took Two Hours": Pep Guardiola on Extending His Contract with City
Pep Guardiola has decided to stay with Manchester City, signing a new one-year contract extension. The Spaniard commented on his decision.
Details: At a press conference ahead of the match against Tottenham, Guardiola revealed that it only took two hours to finalize all the details with the "Citizens."
Quote: "It took two hours to agree on the new deal with Manchester City’s board. All my decisions in life are based on what I feel at the moment," said Guardiola.
Guardiola also mentioned that the team’s recent streak of four consecutive defeats played a certain role in his decision.
Reminder: Guardiola's previous contract with the English champions was set to expire at the end of the current season. Additionally, the new deal does not include a clause for mutual termination in the event that Manchester City is found guilty of breaching 115 FFP regulations and demoted to the Championship.
Reports earlier suggested that Brazilian football legend Ronaldo is interested in becoming the president of the Brazilian Football Federation, and had expressed a desire to hire Guardiola as the head coach of the "Seleção."
