"Couldn't leave": Guardiola explains why he extended his contract with Man City x.com/ManCity

Today, Manchester City’s legendary manager Pep Guardiola signed a contract extension with the club. The Spanish coach explained his decision to stay.

Details: According to Guardiola, the team’s recent struggles, including four consecutive defeats, influenced his decision.

Quote:

“I felt that I couldn’t leave now. It’s that simple. Don’t ask me why.

Maybe those four losses made me feel like I couldn’t walk away…

Every time I sign a contract, I think it’ll be my last, and yet here we are!”

Guardiola’s previous deal was set to expire in the summer of 2025. His new contract now runs until the summer of 2027.

Reminder: Reports earlier suggested that Brazilian football legend Ronaldo is interested in becoming the president of the Brazilian Football Federation and had expressed a desire to hire Guardiola as the head coach of the "Seleção."
