It looks very serious! Clément Lenglet suffers injury in Copa del Rey and can't continue the match
Alarming news for Diego Simeone's side right at the start of their cup clash.
Details: Defender Clément Lenglet sustained a knee injury in the opening minutes of the Copa del Rey match against Atlético Baleares, and the club fears the damage could be significant.
The French centre-back, who has recently been a regular starter in matches against Barcelona and Atlético, was named in the starting XI by Diego Simeone. However, in just the 10th minute, while trying to connect with a cross near the goal line, Lenglet awkwardly planted his right foot and immediately went down clutching his knee, clearly in agony.
Lenglet left the pitch on his own, to a round of applause from the fans, but was visibly limping. This incident poses a serious headache for Simeone, especially considering that José María Giménez is also sidelined with injury.
As of the 30th minute, Atlético are leading 2-1 thanks to goals from Antoine Griezmann and Giacomo Raspadori.
Reminder: Atlético midfielder Koke has become one of the main targets for Inter Miami.
