Lionel Messi has completed the match of the second round of the Copa America group stage against Chile with an injury to his ankle.

According to journalist Gaston Edul, Messi will join Argentina's national team training in the afternoon of Saturday, June 29. It is currently known that Messi will miss the next group stage match to better prepare for the quarter-final match of the Copa America.

As a reminder, Argentina defeated Chile 1-0 thanks to Lautaro Martinez's goal in the 88th minute, thus securing their spot in the quarterfinals as group leaders.

So far, Messi has only recorded one assist in the Copa America 2024, which came in the match against Canada (2-0).

In the final round of the group stage, Argentina will face Peru, which currently has only one point.
