The French national team has advanced to the Euro 2024 playoffs, scoring only two goals in the group stage. Notably, one goal was a penalty by Kylian Mbappe, and the other was an own goal by the Austrian team.

According to L’Equipe, things are not well off the field either. The reputable publication reports a conflict within the team between head coach Didier Deschamps and veteran forward Olivier Giroud.

The source indicates that Deschamps believes the 37-year-old veteran no longer meets the team's standards. In response, Giroud has avoided an open conflict to maintain team harmony and instead has started additional training sessions.

It is worth noting that Giroud came on as a substitute in all three group stage matches, playing only 45 minutes in total without contributing to the scoreline.

In the round of 16, France will face Belgium on Monday, July 1. The match will kick off at 18:00 Central European Time.
