‘I Like These Kinds of Matches’ – Petkovic relishes Nigeria test at AFCON 2025

Algeria coach Vladimir Petkovic has expressed excitement ahead of Saturday’s AFCON 2025 quarter-final against Nigeria in Marrakech. The Super Eagles reached the last eight with a 4-0 win over Mozambique, while Algeria edged DR Congo after extra time through Adil Boulbina’s 117th-minute strike. Both teams topped groups, with Nigeria scoring 12 goals and Algeria conceding one.

Petkovic said, “We will start preparing for the match against Nigeria right now… focusing on our strengths,” “I like these kinds of matches… against teams aiming for the title.”
