The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has reportedly launched an official investigation into incidents of misconduct involving players, team officials, and members of the media during the AFCON 2025 quarter-final matches between Cameroon and Morocco, as well as Algeria and Nigeria.

In a statement released on CAFOnline, the African football governing body confirmed that the incidents have been formally referred to the CAF Disciplinary Board. CAF stated that the board will thoroughly review the reports and available evidence, with appropriate sanctions to follow should any individuals be found guilty of violating tournament regulations.

CAF also disclosed that it is reviewing video footage related to alleged inappropriate behaviour by some media personnel in the mixed zone area. This forms part of the broader investigation aimed at ensuring professionalism and order throughout the tournament.

CAF reiterated its zero-tolerance stance on misconduct, particularly actions directed at match officials, referees, or tournament organizers. According to the statement, any behaviour that falls short of professional standards at CAF events will be met with firm disciplinary measures.
