Real Madrid have revealed the nature of Kylian Mbappé's injury. The French forward suffered hyperextension of the posterior capsule of his left knee. Initial estimates suggest the player will be sidelined for around two weeks. Journalist Arancha Rodríguez reported the news.

Mbappé sustained the injury in France's match against Türkiye, which ended in a 1-0 victory for the French. The forward opened the scoring in the second half, but soon after his goal he felt discomfort in his knee and was eventually substituted.

Real Madrid's medical staff must now focus on getting the forward back in time for the most important match of the upcoming stretch of the season. On October 25, the Madrid club will travel to Barcelona for the first El Clásico of the season.
