In Serie A’s 23rd round, Inter clinched a hard-fought away victory over Cremonese thanks to goals from Martinez and Zielinski. But the match itself was overshadowed by a shocking act from the Milan club’s supporters.
The home side’s goalkeeper, Emil Audero, was injured by a firework rocket thrown by Nerazzurri fans. The incident unfolded in the 50th minute, with the keeper alone in his penalty area. The rocket exploded near him, causing a minor cut and burn on his leg.
Despite the shock and injury, Audero was able to continue after receiving medical attention.
Inter players and coach Cristian Chivu responded immediately, trying to calm their fans and warn against such unacceptable actions. Now, Inter face a hefty fine and possible restrictions on away fans for future matches.
