Herve Koffi a doubt for Burkina Faso’s friendly against Argentina
The Stallions’ first-choice goalkeeper could miss his team’s final match of this international break.
Herve Koffi remains a doubt for the match against Argentina, scheduled for 4 October in Buenos Aires. The Burkina Faso international goalkeeper had, however, featured in the first two matchdays of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, against Benin in Ouagadougou (1–1) and the Central African Republic (1–0) in Casablanca.
Nevertheless, his fitness is raising concerns within the Burkina Faso national team. Following Wednesday’s training session, the Stallions’ manager, Amir Abdou, did not confirm whether his goalkeeper would feature against Argentina on 4 October.
The Comorian coach first wishes to obtain further information from the medical staff. The decision regarding Herve Koffi’s availability is expected to be made following an assessment of his physical condition.
“As for Hervé, we’ll see where things stand – whether he’s fit or not. We’ll check in with the medical staff before we set off,” said Amir Abdou.
