Doubts loom over Burkina Faso’s friendly against Argentina
The friendly match between Burkina Faso and Argentina, scheduled for 4 October, may not go ahead.
With two days to go before this international friendly, the Burkinabe players are reportedly still stranded in Morocco and have not yet travelled to Argentina. According to information from Romain Molina, the Stallions were ready to leave their hotel in Morocco to catch their flight to Buenos Aires.
However, a problem with the flight is said to have prevented their departure. This situation has therefore cast doubt on whether the match will go ahead. The Burkina Faso players are also said not to have held a training session yet, despite the match drawing near.
However, the Burkina Faso Football Federation has not yet issued an official statement on the matter. The coming hours should provide further clarity on the situation and on whether the Stallions will be able to travel to Buenos Aires to face Argentina.
This match is expected to be Burkina Faso’s final fixture during this international break. The Stallions have completed the first two matchdays of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers with a draw and a win.
