Burkina Faso are due to face Argentina on 4 October in an international friendly.

However, the match now appears to be in jeopardy. The Burkina Faso delegation has still not left Morocco, even though the match is due to take place in 48 hours. In light of this situation, the Burkina Faso Football Federation has issued a statement.

According to the governing body, the Stallions’ journey to Buenos Aires was disrupted following the cancellation, without prior notice, of the flight originally scheduled. “The national A team’s journey was disrupted following the cancellation, without prior notice, by the aircraft charterer, of the flight originally scheduled for 30 September. This cancellation led to a reorganisation of the delegation’s travel itinerary.”

Since this incident, officials have been considering other options to organise a new departure, but constraints relating in particular to the journey time have raised concerns amongst the players. The governing body states that all parties involved are committed to finding a solution.

The Federation has assured supporters that it will communicate any significant developments in the situation.
