Gavin Hunt on their Nedbank Cup clash against defending champions Kaizer Chiefs: Our approach in this game remains the same as all our matches
Gavin Hunt’s Stellenbosch FC approach to their Nedbank Cup last-32 clash against Kaizer Chiefs this evening will not be different from how they approach other games.
Stellies have been having a topsy-turvy start to life under Hunt after he joined after his departure at Durban City.
They recently lost back to back against Algeria’s CR Belouizdad in a Caf Confederation Cup matches in the past week.
It was a 5-0 aggregate score-line they suffered and this evening they face last season's Nedbank Cup winners Chiefs in a Cup game which progression in it may result in a tighter schedule for them.
“But I don’t prepare any differently. There’s no different in preparation, in thought about how, what we try and do, obviously, we need to look at, we have looked at opposition, what we think, how we and try and set ourselves up to be, let them try and hopefully, try and worry a little bit more about us,” said Hunt.
“But we certainly need to play, and don’t play with the fear of what they can bring. And they are a good side. They certainly, as I said, they’re much more settled now.
“They’re much more free flowing. And once you won a few games like they’ve won, it gives a little bit of. You get a little bit of confidence back in the team, which they have done. And the league position doesn’t lie.”
Hunt’s Stellies face Amakhosi, at the DHL Cape Town Stadium.
The game is set to start at 7pm.
