Cedric Kaze on Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Lebohang Maboe: He is one of the best players I have worked with as a coach as he can play various positions
Cedric Kaze is convinced Lebohang Maboe’s level of football talent is on a different level to many players.
Kaze has waxed lyrical on Maboe since the midfielder’s move to Kaizer Chiefs in the off season from defunct SuperSport United.
The former Maritzburg United and Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder has been a revelation for Chiefs in what is becoming a season of redemption.
The just won their Caf Confederation Cup tie against Zesco United having won against Marumo Gallants last week in a Betway Premiership match.
In both those matches, Maboe has been on top form.
"Maboe has an amazing football IQ - he can play as a 6, 8 or 10," said Kaze.
"He can even play as a winger because he knows how to find the half spaces. He is accurate in front of the box and has a very good shot.
"He is a hard worker. It is a very good thing to have him, and he adds experience to our Confederation Cup squad. He is able to advise the younger players and all his teammates."
This Wednesday they face Stellenbosch FC in a Nedbank Cup as they start their defence of the trophy they won last season.
