Gavin Hunt blames lack of quality players for Stellenbosch's 2-0 loss to Orlando Pirates
Gavin Hunt blames the standard of Stellenbosch FC players for their 2-0 loss to Orlando Pirates.
Pirates beat Stellies 2-0 at Athlone Stadium last night in a Betway Premiership with Patrick Maswanganyi and Evidence Makgopa scoring the goals to keep their title hopes alive.
Pirates are now five points behind table toppers Mamelodi Sundowns who have 67 to their 62.
“We didn’t expect to concede goals from those situation, if the centre-back doesn’t want to head the ball, we have a problem,” Hunt said after the match.
“But we’ve done well with the players we’ve got it’s been absolutely a miracle what we’ve done in general.
“We not gonna compete with these teams right now, but we will next year that’s for sure. There’s a lot of players that shouldn’t be here. We’ve done unbelievably well to be where we are, we’ve got three games left like I said we competed nicely with this team.
