Garland Eyes $70M Soccer Complex to Secure Atlético Dallas USL Team

Garland, Texas, is considering a $70 million investment in a new soccer complex designed to host Atlético Dallas, a soon-to-launch United Soccer League (USL) team set for its inaugural season in 2027. As reported by The Dallas Morning News, the city aims to secure a 20-year agreement with the club, building on 65 acres at the intersection of George Bush Turnpike and Holford Road.
While not officially named in the presentation, renderings include Atlético Dallas’ crest — a Mexican gray wolf and a rattlesnake — strongly implying the project’s purpose. The complex would include up to eight soccer fields, a youth academy, and a 28,000-square-foot multipurpose facility, with additional land set aside for potential mixed-use development.
City officials estimate $25 million for the fields, $20 million for the building, and $26 million in surrounding infrastructure improvements. The venue would host league games, training sessions, and youth tournaments, aiming to boost tourism and economic activity. The project is scheduled for a formal hearing with the city council on June 3.
