Michael Carrick has been handed another lifeline at Manchester United, despite the club's historic struggles.

Details: According to TEAMtalk, Manchester United's hierarchy have no immediate plans to dismiss Michael Carrick, despite the team's disastrous run of results. Following internal discussions, the club's decision-makers intend to keep the Englishman in charge until the upcoming international break, which begins on November 9. Only then will they conduct a fresh assessment of his position and determine whether a managerial change is necessary.

The decision comes amid an unprecedented crisis at Old Trafford. On Saturday, October 31, Manchester United suffered another painful setback, losing 2-0 away to Chelsea. Nevertheless, the club's management have opted against making an emergency change in the dugout.

Carrick is therefore expected to continue preparing the team for its upcoming fixtures. United will host Roma in the Champions League on November 3 before facing Aston Villa in the Premier League on November 8. These matches will take place before the planned reassessment of the manager's future.

It is worth noting that Manchester United's defeat to Chelsea extended their winless streak to nine matches across all competitions. According to Sky Sports, this is the club's longest run without a victory since September 1984.
