FIFA Appoints Moroccan Referee Jalal Jayed for Nigeria vs DR Congo 2026 World Cup Playoff Final
FIFA has appointed Moroccan referee Jalal Jayed to officiate the highly anticipated 2026 FIFA World Cup playoff final on Sunday between Nigeria and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
The 38-year-old official will be joined on the field by compatriots Mustapha Akarkad as the first assistant referee and Zakaria Bernissi as the second assistant referee.
Tunisia’s Mahrez El Malki has been appointed as the fourth official for the match. In the VAR room, Lahlou Benbraham of Algeria will take charge, supported by Haitham Guirat from Tunisia.
The final is scheduled to be played at the Prince Héritier Moulay El Hassan Sports Complex in Rabat.
