Faríñez eyes Colombian giant Junior after strong showing at Águilas

Wuilker Faríñez may soon return to the spotlight with a move to a top-tier Colombian club. Junior FC is considering signing the Venezuelan goalkeeper after a solid stint with Águilas Doradas in the first half of 2025.
According to journalist Jhon Sebastián Huérfano Sánchez, Junior is evaluating a one-year deal for Faríñez that would keep him at the club until June 2026. The move is seen as a strategic boost to their goalkeeping options, given the Venezuelan's proven track record and current form.
Faríñez, who debuted professionally with Caracas FC in 2015, made his mark at Millonarios between 2018 and 2020, becoming one of Colombia’s standout goalkeepers. He then moved to RC Lens in France, but a long-term injury halted his progress. After a return to Caracas, he joined Águilas Doradas this year.
In 12 appearances during the 2025 Apertura, Faríñez conceded 10 goals and kept three clean sheets. His performances have also earned him renewed call-ups to the Venezuelan national team, where he remains a key figure heading into the 2026 World Cup.
If finalized, the move to Junior would mark a significant step in his recovery and reestablishment at the top level of South American football.
