The end of the first half in the Champions League quarterfinal turned into a real nightmare for Catalan giants Barcelona.
Details: In the 45th minute, Atlético's striker Julián Álvarez delivered a sensational goal with a direct free-kick, curling the ball right into the top corner of the net.
This pinpoint strike was the logical conclusion to a catastrophic spell for the visitors, which had begun just moments earlier.
This double blow—a red card and a goal right before the break—completely changed the course of the tie.
Reminder: Atlético defender David Gantzko suffered an injury in an innocuous situation and was substituted.
