Espart chose the biggest stage yet to open his Champions League scoring account.

Details: Barcelona's 19-year-old defender Xavi Espart scored in the 55th minute of the Champions League clash away to Paris Saint-Germain, bringing the Catalans level at 1-1. It was the La Masia graduate's first goal in Europe's premier club competition.

PSG had gone ahead before the interval through Désiré Doué, who opened the scoring in the 38th minute at the Parc des Princes. Barcelona therefore went into the break trailing, but Espart's strike early in the second half restored parity and completely reopened the contest.

The achievement is particularly significant for the youngster. UEFA's pre-match information listed Espart with two previous Champions League appearances and no goals, both coming during the 2025/26 campaign. He made his first-team debut in the competition against Newcastle United in March 2026.

It is worth noting that Espart has already established himself in Barcelona's senior squad this season. His first competitive goal for the club came against Levante on September 13, 2026, while Barcelona recently reached an agreement to extend his contract until June 30, 2030.
