Most of the credit for creating the popular social network Facebook went to Mark Zuckerberg. However, few remember that he allegedly took the idea from the Winklevoss twins, who still managed to amass their own fortune. Now, they have invested in an English non-league club.

Details: According to Daily Mirror, Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss have invested £3.5 million into Real Bedford, a club currently competing in England’s eighth tier. Their involvement comes through their connection with Bitcoin podcaster Peter McCormack, who purchased the club in January 2022.

McCormack rebranded the team from FC Bedford to Real Bedford, and the club is now in talks with seventh-tier side Bedford Town over a potential merger. Forbes estimates the Winklevoss brothers’ combined net worth at nearly $6 billion.

Reminder: Founded in 2002, Real Bedford earned promotion to the eighth tier last season.
