Egyptian billionaire rejecting comparisons Mohamed Salah with other Arab players
Egyptian businessman Naguib Sawiris recently sparked a conversation with his reaction to a post supporting Liverpool player Mohamed Salah against being compared to other Arab athletes. Sawiris shared a message on “X” that said it’s “incorrect” to compare Salah with any other Arab player, whether past or present.
The post, which Sawiris fully supported, claimed that comparing Salah to other Arab players diminishes his accomplishments while overstating the achievements of those who haven’t reached his level. The post described Salah as being “in a league of his own,” saying that no other Arab player, either currently or in the past, can match his success.
Since joining Liverpool in 2017, Salah has become one of the world’s top footballers, earning awards like the English Football Writers' Association Player of the Year, and the Premier League Golden Boot three times. Sawiris’s comment, “Exactly,” signals his agreement that Salah’s status is unmatched in Arab football.
