Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler has responded playfully to Mohamed Salah’s latest accomplishment, as the Egyptian forward surpassed Fowler in the Premier League’s all-time top scorers list. Salah scored his 164th Premier League goal during Liverpool’s 2-1 victory over Brighton on Saturday, helping the Reds maintain their lead and breaking Fowler’s record in the process.
With this goal, Salah now claims the eighth spot on the league’s historic scoring chart, pushing Fowler—who netted 163 goals in his Premier League career—down to ninth place. Reacting to the news, Fowler humorously commented on X, saying, "I’ve always preferred the number 9 anyway," a light nod to his favored position as a central striker, while Salah, the dynamic winger, wears number 11.
Salah continues to etch his name in Liverpool’s history, while Alan Shearer remains at the top of the Premier League’s all-time scoring list with 260 goals.
