Didier Deschamps recently announced that the 2026 World Cup will be his final tournament as head coach of Les Bleus. He has now shared his thoughts on a possible successor.

Details: In an interview with L’Équipe, Deschamps was asked about the possibility of Zinedine Zidane taking over as France’s next manager.

Quote: "Zinedine Zidane as the next head coach of France? Well, he is a very good candidate," Deschamps stated.

Deschamps also confirmed that Kylian Mbappé will return to the France squad for the March international fixtures.

Reports have surfaced of a conflict between Mbappe and Deschamps, with tensions reportedly straining their relationship. This growing misunderstanding has led to suggestions that the forward no longer wishes to play for the national team.

Reminder: The playoff matches will take place from May 20 to 25, 2025, alongside the League A quarterfinals.

The final stage of League A will be held in June 2025, with the semifinals, third-place match, and final scheduled from June 4 to 8. The current UEFA Nations League champion is Spain. Previous winners include Portugal (2019) and France (2021).
