Defending Betway Premiership champions Mamelodi Sundowns make Columbian striker first January signing ahead of PSL return
Brayan Leon has signed for Betway Premiership defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns.
The Columbian striker is reported to have agreed to join the South African side for a fee of around R53-million from his native club Independiente Medellin.
He comes to South Africa having scored 13 goals and set up 11 more for Medellin last season, and has netted 33 times with 17 assists across 118 games overall.
The 25-year-old is reported to have signed a three-year deal with Miguel Cardoso’s side ahead of the second half of the PSL season.
South America is known to be Sundowns’ preferred talent factory as they have been signing players from that part of the world for the a long time.
Former midfielder Gaston Sirino is from Uruguay while current player Marcelo Allende is from Chile and striker Arthur Sales is from Brazil.
Departed talisman Lucas Ribeiro was also from Brazil.
