Strengthening the left-back position has become a priority for Borussia Dortmund in the summer transfer window, and the club has identified an ideal candidate for this role.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the "Black and Yellows" are keen on acquiring Fenerbahçe and Turkish national team left-back Ferdi Kadıoğlu. New head coach Nuri Şahin is well-acquainted with the capabilities of his compatriot and has urged the club to make every effort to secure this transfer.

Previously, Borussia Dortmund sought to retain Ian Maatsen, who successfully played on loan from Chelsea during the second half of the season, but the Dutchman has already agreed to a move to Aston Villa.

Securing Kadıoğlu will not be easy, as Fenerbahçe demands between 30 and 35 million euros for him. The Champions League finalists are willing to pay this amount but will have to compete with several Premier League clubs also interested in Kadıoğlu.

The 24-year-old Kadıoğlu was born in the Netherlands and developed in the NEC Nijmegen academy but has been playing for Fenerbahçe since 2018. Last season, he recorded 3 goals and 5 assists in 51 matches.
