Betway Premiership side Sekhukhune United confirms departure of Eric Tinkler's departure from its ranks as Paulus Masehe takes over on interim basis
Sekhukhune United have confirmed Eric Tinkler’s departure from the club a week after he left the team.
The Betway Premiership side played their maiden match without Tinkler a week ago today, a 3-1 loss to Stellenbosch FC but have now confirmed it via a statement.
His departure is by mutual consent according to the club.
Tinkler and Babiba Noko parted ways after a string of poor results and also the club management felt the top three finish the coach was mandated for was no longer a possibility.
"Sekhukhune United Football Club confirms that it has reached a mutual agreement with Head Coach, Mr Eric Tinkler, to part ways with immediate effect," the club stated.
"Mr Tinkler departs the Babina Noko family after 13 months in charge, during which he contributed to the club's ongoing development and competitive progress.
"The club expresses its sincere appreciation for his professionalism and commitment during his tenure.
"Mr Paulus Masehe will assume the role of Head Coach on an interim basis until further notice."
This evening Sekhukhune United face Marumo Gallants at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium in what will be Paulus Masehe’s second game in charge.
The match starts at 5.30pm.
