Bernard Parker believes Mamelodi Sundowns coach Miguel Cardoso would not decry their schedule had they won against them on Tuesday night.

Parker said Cardoso's cries are largely because they lost 3-2 to them as the calendar issue is not one which the Sundowns gaffer can cite as their hindrance.

TS Galaxy's Parker defeated the Betway Premiership defending champions 3-2 at Mbombela Stadium on Tuesday night which weakened Sundowns title race.

The Sundowns coach was vocal about how the calendar was against them but Parker disputes this.

“No way that we won because Sundowns are fatigued, this is what football is about,” said Parker in an interview with SNAWA on Metro FM.

“You don’t hear Real Madrid, Barcelona and Man City talk such because they play week in, week out at high intensity in terms of Champions League football, local cups and local leagues.

“It’s just about how can you refresh your squad and get the results. Sometimes you cannot play the way you want to play the whole year through, sometimes you have to plan.

“In our case, we had to plan, we had four games in 10 days with the small squad we have. Hence, we had to bring our DDC players, they helped us win the match.

“If Cardoso was on the winning side, he would have said something different but this is football but I just want to wish them all the best in the CAF Champions League final.”
