Benni McCarthy eyes Bafana Bafana scalp citing combination issues
Benni McCarthy is eyeing the South African scalp when they meet for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.
McCarthy's Kenyan National side will face Bafana Bafana in November and the South African football legend said the players are still new to what Pitso Mosimane wants.
Mosimane took over from Hugo Broos and McCarthy is adamant this is where they will capitalise.
"As good as they are, we have seen them at the World Cup, but whenever there’s a change of guard, it takes time for players to understand a new head coach,” said McCarthy on Sporty TV after Bafana's 2-1 win over Guinea.
“It takes time to understand his philosophy, how he plays and what he wants to achieve. So, maybe the [change of coach] could have come at a better [time] for us because it will take a couple of games for South Africa to play the way Pitso wants to play.”
