Barcelona will terminate its contract with Nike

It's no secret that Barcelona has been going through challenging times in terms of financial stability in recent years. Maximizing revenue has become the primary concern in the modern financial policy of the Catalan club. Even long-standing relationships with well-known technical sponsors are called into question if the desired funds from the partnership cannot be achieved. This season, such a situation has arisen with Nike, which manufactures sportswear for the club.

President Joan Laporta stated that Nike failed to fulfill its obligations, leading to the unilateral termination of the contract. However, Nike has taken steps to prevent the termination of the relationship on an urgent basis.

According to club officials, Barcelona has three options: to remain with Nike on improved terms, switch to competitors, or establish its own sportswear brand. Under the current contract, Barça receives €105 million per year, but the club is seeking better terms in the market.
