Barcelona failed to reach an agreement with a candidate for the position of head coach

The Catalan Barcelona continues its search for a head coach for the upcoming season.

It seems that one candidate can already be crossed off the list. According to media reports, the Catalan club will not be able to afford to buy out the contract of Brighton's head coach, Roberto De Zerbi. The current agreement with the coach at the Seagulls runs until June 2026.

Furthermore, the Italian specialist himself prefers to continue coaching in the Premier League rather than moving to Spain.

As a reminder, Barcelona's head coach, Xavi, announced that he will leave the team at the end of the season. Among the candidates to replace him, names like Xabi Alonso, Hansi Flick, Ruben Amorim, among others, have been mentioned.

The Blaugrana currently sit in third place in the La Liga standings. On February 17th, the blue and garnet will play against Celta.
